    In the year of 1881, the school was founded by Tatsugoro Watanabe 120 years ago, and it was originally called Wayo Saiho Denshujo, or Ladies' Dressmaking and Handicraft Academy. On the basis of the solid achievements in the unique field of domestic sciences, the school developed the related academic disciplines in Japan. Now the school has developed into a comprehensive educational institution comprising a graduate school, university, junior college,high school, junior high school and kindergarten. Since the school was authorized as a training school for teachers by the Ministry of Education in 1954, it has trained many qualified teachers as one of the prestigious teacher's schools.
Purpose of establishment:
A school founder, Prof. Tatsugoro Watanabe founded
the guideline in his belief that the aim is to train
qualified female candidates who can cope with
diversified values of our society, adjust to change
within the family system itself, and have an
independent spirit and gifted superiority in academic
or practical fields. Now the school is in keeping
with the University's time-honored policy of
maintaining the best time of traditional values.
In order to develop potential of female candidates,
highly improve their cultivation, acquire their
specialty and pursue for their career, the central
aim of the school is to foster qualified female
candidates with a sense of responsibility, the
will to work and a spirit of liberty, who can
independently contribute to formation and management
of peaceful democratic and cultural society.
