A four-storied research building completed in December 1993,
various laboratories equipped with electron microscopes,
X-rays, high-speed liquid chromatographs, supercentrifugal
separators, satellite image reception systems, buoys which

Hokkaido Fisheries Experimental Station was established at Otaru.

This Station was founded to carry out various experiments
and researches on the improvement of cultivation, resource
management, processing techniques of aquatic resources to
develop coastal fishery in Hokkaido region.
The main activities of the station involve offering technique
guidance, conducting surveys and researches, promoting joint
researches and research exchanges, developing techniques and
publishing the associated magazines.
