Purpose of establishment：
The Ministry of Education,Science and Culture agreed to the opening of new laboratory in the Faculty of Science for organic chemical studies of proteinsand amino acids on April in 1956.
The Institute for Protein Research was opened formally,on April 1,1958,as a partof Osaka University.
Basic research on proteins
Structure analyses of proteins
and supuramolecules by the use of X-ray
diffraction, NMR and mass spectroscopy.
Research on stability,folding and dynamicsof
protein molecules. Mechanism of enzyme
reactions on electron transfer and hydrolyses.
Research on the transcriptional regulation
and signal transduction. Research on the
differentiation growth, aging and apotosis
of neurons. Development ofnew methods
for protein synthesis. Construction of protein
data base its distribution.
