    (The center, which had developed from Akana branch of Shimane Agricultural Research Center, consisted of 2 sections, namely regional research section and total technology section)

    New Mountainous Reagions Research Center started
    (The new center consolidated Shimane Forest Research Center, wild boar research section and forest pasture research section of Shimane Stockbreeding Center)
Purpose of establishment:
Mountainous Regions Research Center was established for the
overall implementation of regional surveys and research, and
the testing and research of agriculture, stochbreeding, and
forestory. At the same time, it also provides training
opportunities that utilize the results of research, provides
techonological guidance, and provides useful information.
Business overview:
Firstly, the center promotes research across fields linking
regional research, agriculture, forestry, and stockbreeding,
jointing together with residents, NPO groups and other research
Secondly, the Center performs training for the purpose of
acquiring the technology required for regional development,
agriculture, and forestry, in order to support those who
want to lead invigorating lives in mountainous regions.
Thirdly, the circulation of information, with residents
playing the primary role, is being developed by our staff on
websites based on latest Web-GIS technology.
