    The University of Tokushima Faculty of Medicine was established.
Purpose of establishment:
The School of Medicine aims to encourage a wide area
of studies on basic and clinical medicine in addition
to the university-wide programs of general education.
Based on this objective, it offers educational
activities to train students for medical doctors or
researchers who are rich in human nature and
originality besides arts and knowledge. The School of
Nutrition has since been meant as the leading
educational institute to prepare graduates to work in
hospitals, health care centers and food industries.
The School of Health Sciences aims at training staff who can
support advanced and specialized medical treatment according
to the needs of national health, medical care and welfare.
Business overview:
The Faculty of Medicine comprises three schools:
School of medicine, School of Nutrition and School of
Health Sciences. The School of Medicine admits 95
undergraduate students annually and offers 6-year
education program leading to the degree of Bachelor of
Medicine. The School of Nutrition admits 50
undergraduate students annually and offers 4-year
education program leading to the degree of Bachelor
of Science in Nutrition.
The School of Health Sciences admits 124 undergraduate
students annually and offers 4-year education program
leading to the degree of Bachelor of Nursing and
Bachelor of Health Science.
