The Fukuoka Institute of Health and Environmental Science
gives scientific and technical support to the administration
of Fukuoka Prefecture in the fields of health and environmental
science, in order to protect the health of the inhabitants and
comfortable environment. Various complicated problems, which
have respect with social problems, are arising in sanitation.
Infectious diseases such as food poisoning and AIDS and the
problem of cancer caused by chemical substances are mportant
subjects to solve. The problems of automotive exhaust gas,
everyday waste water, and waste material exist in environmental
problems, though the situation of the environmental pollution
has become considerably better. In addition, we also have to
consider the environmental problems such as destruction of the
ozone layer, global warming, and acid rain seriously. We are
conducting researches with emphasis on above subjects.
