【課題】単一遺伝子の変異によって雄性側(花粉)及び雌性側(卵)の両者において生殖能力のある非還元配偶子を形成し、その結果、自殖によって親植物の約2倍のゲノム量を持つ後代種子を得ることができる植物を提供する。【解決手段】特定のcDNA塩基配列を有するUV14-like遺伝子または他種ホモログ遺伝子の機能が低下または欠失し、雄生側(花粉)および雌性側(卵)の両方において生殖能力のある非還元配偶子を形成して、自殖により約2倍のゲノム量を持つ後代種子が得られる植物。【選択図】なし
