コンピュータシステムにより実行される、目の水晶体の像における混濁を検出する方法に関する。この方法は、水晶体の画像における対象領域を検出する段階と、アルゴリズムを使用して対象領域を処理して修正画像を生産する段階と、例えば、後嚢下白内障(PSC)によって生じる混濁のような他のタイプの混濁に対して、皮質白内障と関連する混濁を強調する段階と、を含む。修正画像は、修正画像内の対象領域の少なくとも一つの領域の混濁の比率を測定することによって、皮質の混濁度を等級づけするために用いられ得る。
