The Library was collected by Dr. G. E. Morrison
when he was in Peking during1897-1917. It contains
works in European Languages dealing mainly with
China.Book deserving special remarks include 45
editions of Marco Polo's Descriptionofthe World,
and 500 dictionaries of Chinese dialects.

Prospective readers should bring a letter of
introduction from a scholar. After filling out
an application cavailable from the librarians
in the Reading Room), they will be issued a
