Overview:
These are manuscripts and printed goods dating
from the Azuchi-Momoyama period(1568-1600) to the
beginning of the Meiji period(ca.1868). These are
source materials for recent literary research in
Ehime about the Kokugaku(The textual and
interpretive study of Japanese classical literature
and ancient writings) and include studies of the
Tale of Genji. The catalog of the collection was
completed in March 1999. They were entrusted to the
Library in 1987 by Mr. HORIUCHI Shozo, a descendant
of the Horiuchi Household in the Gogoshima Island,
Matsuyama.
