Main Purpose: Conducting the basic research on the
prevention of desertification and
agricultural development and utilization in
dry land
1. Central Dome
(1) Subtropical desert conditioned glass greenhouse:
Research on ecology and biology of organisms,
environmental conservation, and improvement of
agricultural and greening technology in the
subtropical desert
(2) Cool-temperate desert conditioned glass greenhouse:
Research on ecology and biology of organisms,
environmental conservation, agricultural and greening
technology in the cool-temperature desert and tundra
area
(3) Experimental glass room (main facility): Monitoring
system for salt dynamics, three dimensional analysis
system for soil degradation dynamics in all-weather
dry land, and wind tunnel system for mechanism
analysis of desertification
2. Research and Experimental Facility
Main facility: 3 growth chambers, 3 reaction analysis
systems of global warming for plants of dry land,
4 experimental apparatuses for environment of soil and
water, 1 set of support system for real time field
survey of dry land, 1 analysis apparatus for weather
information of dry land, 1 set of analysis apparatus for
gene protein, 1 set of nuclear magnetic resonance
spectrometer (NMR), 1 set of electron beam microanalyser,
1 set of LC/GC mass spectrometry system, and 1 set of
analysis apparatus for interactions between ecology and
molecule
User environment and conditions:
Expense account, materials for experiment, etc. should be paid by users.
User procedures and method:
Procedure for use: Follow the requirements for inviting
applications of collaborative research with Dry Land
Research Center.
Qualification for use: Research collaborator with Dry
Land Research Center
