【請求項1】 環状分子、該環状分子を串刺し状に包接する直鎖状分子、及び該直鎖状分子から前記環状分子が脱離しないように直鎖状分子の両端に配置される封鎖基を有するポリロタキサンから本質的になる液晶性ポリロタキサンであって、該液晶性ポリロタキサンは、前記環状分子がメソゲン基を有し、且つ液晶性を有し、 前記メソゲン基が、A-X-B-C-Y-(式中、A及びBは6員環であり、Cは単結合又は直鎖状基であり、X及びYは結合基である)で表される基である、液晶性ポリロタキサン。
