【請求項1】 石灰岩或は苦灰岩が存在するが、帯水層が存在しないか又は帯水層が存在しても二酸化炭素との反応に必要となる水量が存在しない地下であり、100m以深1000m以浅の地下に、加圧ガスあるいは液化あるいは超臨界状態の二酸化炭素とその2.5倍以上100倍以下の質量の、淡水、海水又はかん水から選ばれる水を、予め混合して供給し、二酸化炭素と水と前記地下に存在する石灰岩或いは苦灰岩に含まれる炭酸塩とを反応させることにより、二酸化炭素が水中に炭酸水素イオンとして、あるいは、炭酸水素イオンに加えて溶存二酸化炭素及び/又は炭酸イオンとして存在することで固定化されることを特徴とする二酸化炭素の貯留・隔離方法。
