SHIGEN is a portal site of bioresource information in Japan maintained by National Institute of genetics (NIG). SHIGEN provides the list of databases constructed at NIG, information sites for bioresources (NBRP; National BioResource Project, WGR; Worldwide genetic Resources and JGR; Japan genetic Resources), monthly newsletters (BioResource now!) and bioinformatics tools.
