Overview:
This is a database of alternative splice variants and their transcripts. The database is named ASTRA, an anagram for 'Alternative Splicing and TRanscription Archives'. Information was gathered by studying the patterns by which alternative splicing of DNA sequences take place and how transcription of these sequences are initiated. This study involved the human genome and that of five additional species namely the mouse, D. melanogaster, C. elegans, A. thaliana and O.sativa.
