Research overview：
網膜神経節から伸長する視神経は視中枢に対し領域特異的な投射を行います。本研究では、この領域特異的神経結合形成の基盤をなす発生過程における網膜内の領域特異化の分子機構、また、その後に生じる領域特異的神経投射の分子機構を明らかにします。更に、哺乳動物における視神経再生の可能性を探る為、魚類を使って再生の最初期遺伝子の安定を目指します。本研究で得られた知見は再生医療への応用が期待されます。
