細胞1個のミクロな世界の温度を精密に制御する革新的な技術を開発します(細胞熱工学)。これを根幹技術として、細胞で起きている事象を熱力学の新しい視点で紐解きながら、生命システムを細胞レベルから制御する実践的研究へ大きく展開します。動物や植物などの種の垣根を超えた普遍的なバイオテクノロジーとして確立、医療・食料・エネルギー分野も含め、多様なシーズが湧き出るプラットフォームの創出を目指します。
