Research overview：
本提案では、様々な環境中に生育する微生物群が持つ多様な芳香族化合物代謝能を担う遺伝子を探し出し、これらを植物の細胞内で働かせることでリグニンの生合成を改変します。これにより分解性や加工性に優れたテーラーメイドリグニンを含む細胞壁を創出し、バイオ燃料や化学工業原料の生産へ新規な植物バイオマスを供給することを通じて低炭素社会の実現に貢献します。
