Research overview：
海洋の漁業資源を持続的に利用したり、魚種の生物多様性を守るためには、どのような魚種がどこにどれくらい生息しているかを知ることが不可欠です。本研究では海水中に含まれる魚由来のDNA(環境DNA)の分析に基づき、迅速かつ定量的に魚類の生物量や種構成、遺伝的特徴を把握する新しいモニタリング手法を開発します。この手法により、漁獲の行えない海洋保護区や、生物試料採取が困難な汚染水域における魚類相の定量把握・生態系評価も可能となります。
