これまで未開拓の状況であったテラヘルツの周波数領域に高出力の光源-ジャイロトロン(パルス出力10kW)を開発し、波長(0.3mm)程度のスポットにまで集光することにより、3×10^3 kW/cm^2 の超高パワー密度のテラヘルツ光を発生する技術を開発する。
