「メタボリックシンドローム」病態の最上流に位置する「肥満」あるいは一見その対極にある「やせ」の表現型を呈すマウスを対象として、メタボローム解析で生体内の代謝変化を網羅的に解析します。生体の脂質蓄積・分解・燃焼・消費システムにおける恒常性維持の分子基盤解明、さらには新しい代謝経路及び経路間の相互作用の発見、新しい生理活性代謝産物の同定、新規創薬標的の特定に挑みます。
