Research overview：

Manzamine Aおよびナツメ抽出物を高脂血症モデル動物であるApoE欠損マウスに3ヶ月間経口投与したところ、manzamine A投与により血中コレステロール濃度(Total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, Free cholesterol) ならびに血中トリグリセリド濃度の低下が認められた。また、ナツメ抽出物の投与により、血中総コレステロール濃度ならびに血中LDL濃度の低下が認められた。したがって、manzamine Aおよびナツメ抽出物は脂質異常症を改善する可能性を有しているといえる。
