Research overview：
近年、網羅的手法によりヒト全ゲノムにおけるDNAメチル化の解析が進められています。その過程で、DNAメチル化は“gene body”つまり遺伝子の転写領域部分に集中して付加されていることが明らかにされました。本研究は無脊椎動物カタユウレイボヤをモデルに、gene bodyメチル化の分子機構と機能を解明し、DNAメチル化に新たな意義付けを見出すことで従来の真核生物の基本転写制御研究に一石を投じます。
