Research overview：
私たちの身体を構成する細胞は、異常を感知すると増殖を停止します。細胞老化はこの仕組みの1つであり、がんを抑制する機構として生体の恒常性維持に寄与していると考えられています。しかし最近になって、細胞老化は有害因子の分泌という副作用を伴うことが分かってきました。そこで本研究では、がんを含む様々な加齢性疾患をこの副作用による全身性の反応ととらえ、疾患の発症機構の解明とその制御、そして分子標的の発見を基盤とした新しい診断マーカーや治療法・予防法の開発を目指します。
