Research overview：
光合成生物である珪藻における、ナノ構造を有するシリカ被殻の形成(バイオミネラリゼーション)を、光の回折限界を超えたナノスケールの解像度を持つ3次元超解像蛍光顕微鏡により解析し、そのメカニズムを明らかにします。さらに、蛍光性シリカ被殻を創製してナノ光デバイス等への応用を検討し、太陽光エネルギーによるナノデバイスの直接生産や、二酸化炭素の吸収を伴う有用資源回収法としての可能性を探ります。
