DNAの損傷を修復する様々な機構のうち、最も広範な損傷に対応するヌクレオチド除去修復と、損傷を乗り越えて忠実な複製を行うメカニズムについて、徹底的に解明します。本研究によって、哺乳類におけるゲノムの安定保持のための基本的な戦略を明らかにすることのみならず、がんや老化の仕組みを根本的に理解することが期待されます。
