Research overview：
これまで記憶について多くのメカニズムが見いだされましたが、記憶の実体は何かという問いに明確な答えは得られていません。本研究では、線虫C. elegansの神経回路を1ニューロン単位で分子操作することで人工的に記憶を構築し、その実体に迫ります。構築の指標として記憶過程の分子状態および神経活動状態の定量化を行い、構築原理を検証します。記憶の具現化の試みは、同時に多細胞生物への構成的アプローチの試金石になりうると考えます。
