Research overview：
海洋の中・深層水の形成・変質・輸送過程に関して、微小プロセスから全球大循環までの様々なスケールごとのシミュレーションとそれらの相互作用のシミュレーションを行い、中・深層循環をコントロールする物理的メカニズムを明らかにします。その理解に基づき、様々な気候変動がもたらす海洋の大規模変動や、それが沿岸海況等の局所的現象に及ぼす影響を評価するための、効果的かつ効率的なモデリング手法を確立します。
