Research overview：
極地の動植物を凍結から護る不凍タンパク質は、食品の低温保存や冷凍食品の品質保全、低温医療などへの応用が期待されていますが、その作用機構は未だ想像の域を出ていません。本研究では、高分解光学系を新たに開発し、氷結晶表面上のステップ(分子高さの段差)およびラベル化した個々の不凍タンパク質を直接観察することで、不凍タンパク質作用機構の解明を目指します。
