Research overview：
次世代航空機用ガスタービンエンジンの軽量高温部材であるSiC繊維強化SiCマトリックス複合材料を最小の排熱ロスで使用するために、高温熱源からの輻射熱を高効率で反射し、かつ、高温水蒸気雰囲気で安定な耐熱コーティング技術を開発します。高温下の伝熱で支配的な熱輻射によるエネルギー(=電磁波)を効率よく反射する波長オーダーの最適積層構造を設計し、それを新たに開発する耐環境性酸化物系セラミックスによって実現します。
