Research overview：
炭素系触媒を用いてバイオマス中のリグノセルロースを分解し、二酸化炭素排出削減に寄与する化学品合成プロセスを開発します。触媒としては安価な炭素材料を用い、バイオマス中のセルロース・ヘミセルロースから有用な五炭糖・六炭糖を合成します。また、リグニンは触媒原料あるいは燃料として活用し、リグノセルロースを全利用します。触媒の構造・活性相関についても検討し、新触媒の設計・合成にフィードバックさせます。
