Research overview：
植物を環境や外敵から保護するクチクラは細胞壁の外側の脂質層と考えられてきました。本研究では、クチクラを細胞壁との境目がない「細胞壁クチクラ連続体」としてとらえ、新たに、物理化学的手法による生きたままの構造解析、表皮細胞壁の分析を試みます。クチクラ解析手法も駆使して、クチクラ及び細胞壁成分が変化した遺伝資源を解析し、細胞壁クチクラ連続体形成の分子機構の解明、植物表面改変技術の開発を目指します。
