Research overview：
PPR(pentatrico-peptide repeat)タンパク質は植物で約500個の大きなファミリーを形成しており、それぞれが異なる配列に結合するRNA結合タンパク質として、RNAの切断、翻訳、編集などの様々なRNAプロセシングに関わっています。結合するRNA配列の決定には、PPRタンパク質を構成する複数個のPPRモチーフの組み合わせが重要な役割を果たします。本研究では、PPRタンパク質の機能解析を通して、任意のRNA配列に結合し、切断するRNA調整酵素を開発することで、新しいRNA分子活用技術の確立を目指します。
