神経活動は神経回路の形成、維持、最適化に重要だと考えられていますが、その詳細は明らかでありません。本研究では、構造と機能が明確な脳幹の聴覚神経回路において、神経活動の発生部位である軸索起始部の変化として生じる新規の神経可塑性のメカニズムと機能的意義を調べることにより、特定の神経回路機能が入力依存的に獲得され、維持される分子・細胞基盤を明らかにします。
