Research overview：
植物の表皮に存在する気孔は、植物特有の代謝反応である光合成に必要な二酸化炭素の唯一の取り入れ口で、太陽光に含まれる青色光に応答して開口し、植物と大気間のガス交換を行っています。本研究では、気孔開閉変異体を用いた気孔開閉の分子機構の解明、気孔開口を含め植物細胞において多様な機能を担っているマスターエンザイム細胞膜プロトンATPアーゼ (H+-ATPase) の活性調節機構の解明を目指します。
