Research overview：
世界中で食糧増産をもたらした「緑の革命」植物は、背丈が低く倒れにくいという有用形質を示す一方、窒素吸収能が低下し膨大な肥料を要求するという欠点を持ち合わせています。 本研究では、欠点を克服した次なる「緑の革命」植物の創出への可能性を秘める転写中核因子に着目し、その分子機能を原子分解能レベルで解明します。そして、得られた構造情報に基づき、次なる「緑の革命」に資する転写因子の機能改変体をデザインします。
