Research overview：
微生物は地球上の様々な環境に対して、どのように適応し、進化してきたのでしょうか。本研究では、大規模メタゲノムデータを用いて環境横断的メタ解析を行うための情報学的手法を確立し、「遺伝子分布の環境特性」に関する網羅的な情報基盤を構築します。この知識リソースを活用して、微生物が持つ環境適応因子の全体像を解明するとともに、膨大な数の機能未知遺伝子から有用な遺伝子資源を探索するなどの応用研究に取り組みます。
