Research overview：
言語の進化を解き明かすことは科学における大きな挑戦です。言語のように複雑なコミュニケーションはヒト以外の動物には見つかっていませんが、言語を構成する個々の特徴(言語能力)に着目すれば、動物にもその起源や共通点を見出すことができるはずです。そこで、本研究は、動物を対象に言語能力を探求する新たな学術領域(動物言語学)を創出し、言語進化の基本原理や認知基盤の解明、社会イノベーションへと展開します。
