Research overview：
植物は脳や神経をもたずして、離れた器官間で情報を伝達・共有し、劣悪環境でも生き抜いていますが、その詳細な分子メカニズムは不明です。本研究では、植物の乾燥ストレス応答における小分子分泌を介した根と葉間での長距離情報伝達機構を明らかにし、高等生物がもつ個体レベルでの情報統合システムの普遍性と多様性を解き明かします。さらに、分泌型小分子が持つ生理活性を活用し、乾燥耐性植物の創出につなげます。
