Research overview：
うつ病をはじめとする精神疾患は全世界で大きな社会問題となっています。精神疾患治療薬の大部分が作用するセロトニン神経は、従来抗うつ効果を担うと考えられてきましたが、最近私たちの研究チームは正反対の機能を持つセロトニン神経が脳内に存在することを見出しました。本研究では、このセロトニン神経の多様性に着目することで、従来の治療薬の限界を打破することを目指します。
