Research overview：
人為起源二酸化炭素の増加に伴い、海洋の主要一次生産者である微細藻類(植物プランクトン)の動態の変化が危惧されています。本研究では、協力商船と研究船を用いた前例の無い高頻度、高精度観測を通して、世界の海の中でも生産力の高い北太平洋中高緯度域の炭素隔離能力に対して重要な働きをする植物プランクトンの現存量、群集組成、生産力の季節変化と年々変化を把握し、温暖化と海洋酸性化の影響を定量的に明らかにします。
