通常の結晶には無い特異な物性が期待される三次元合金系および二次元ファンデルワールス系の準結晶と近似結晶を舞台に新たな物質設計概念「フェイゾンエンジニアリング」を創成し、従来の物質探査空間とフェイゾン空間を統合します。離散あるいは連続フェイゾン歪の導入により構造タイル組み換えを行い、タイル組み換え自由度と物性・機能の関係を追究することで、磁気・電気・触媒特性を最大化する物質創製基盤を構築します。
