Research overview：
一度傷ついた中枢神経にはアストロサイトが構築するグリア瘢痕と呼ばれる組織が障壁となってニューロンの軸索伸展を阻みます。このグリア瘢痕形成を抑制もしくは除去する手法を開発しない限り、中枢神経の再生は困難と言わざるを得ません。そこで今回『アストロサイトが外傷環境下で様々な細胞とともに活性化・遊走してグリア瘢痕を形成・維持し、脊髄再生を阻む過程の包括的メカニズム』の全容を解明し、中枢神経損傷治療法を開発します。
