Research overview：
光を受容し応答することは生存にとって重要であり、動物では大きく分けて3種類の光受容体が報告されています。線虫は目を持たず、既知の光受容体も持っていませんが、光に対して忌避行動を示します。そのため、線虫は動物における第4の光受容体を持つと考えられ、私はこの未知の光受容体の同定に挑戦します。さらに光による発生制御、光による線虫防除に焦点を当て、光受容体を軸とした光生物学の新たな研究領域の創出を目指します。
