Research overview：
脳にはニューロンの他にアストロサイトという細胞が豊富に存在します。本研究では、「脳機能が一部のニューロンに局在する」という従来説から脱却し、「脳機能は脳全体のアストロサイト-ニューロンの関わり合いによって発揮される」という新たな説の提唱に挑戦します。網羅的でバイアスのないアストロサイト-ニューロン活動のカタログを作成し、将来的には脳機能の向上や脳疾患の治療・診断におけるイノベーションを目指します。
