Research overview：
海洋には表層と深度数百メートルの間を日周・季節的に鉛直移動する動物プランクトン、マイクロネクトンが広く分布しています。この生物移動を通じて多くの炭素が中深層へ輸送・隔離されることが知られていますが、その変動特性は未解明です。本研究では光学、音響学的手法を導入し、鉛直移動性生物群による能動的炭素輸送量の時空間変動を広域・高解像度で見積もり、更にその変動が生態系へもたらすフィードバックを評価します。
