Research overview：
渡り鳥をはじめとする様々な動物が磁気を感知できることは広く知られています。本研究では、磁覚に関与するとされる磁場効果を示すタンパク質を対象に、磁場効果を生じるメカニズムやその磁気的性質を調べ、そのメカニズムを担うタンパク質の構造と併せて明らかにすることを目指します。また、電磁波や静磁場を用いた反応制御にも挑戦します。生体分子の磁場効果を活用した革新的な医療技術およびバイオテクノロジーの基盤を構築することを目指しています。
