本研究では造血幹細胞と造血前駆細胞の空間的組織化という新たな造血制御メカニズム発見に基づき、多様な造血老化現象を統合的に理解し、その進行を抑制するための基盤を構築します。さらに細胞休止維持の破綻や分化の偏りなど、さまざまな組織で加齢変容をもたらす老化の根本的なメカニズムを解き明かします。
