抄録/ポイント： 水産資源学は,生態学とは異なる側面を持っている。実験が難しく,主要なデータが漁業からのものであるという点で,不確実性が大きく,バイアスの混入もしばしば見られる。そのような問題に対処するため,古くから統計モデルの活用が積極的に進められてきた。水産資源学は,大きく分けて,資源評価と資源管理からなる。資源評価,資源管理で使われる統計モデルの概要を紹介する。生態学と水産資源学で使われる統計モデルには多くの共通点があり,統計モデルを媒介として,水産資源学と生態学の協調・融合が進むことを期待する。(著者抄録)
