抄録/ポイント： 津波被災地における火災発生の需要な原因は危険な可燃性物質の存在であった。津波によって破壊された家屋から引きはがされた大量の可燃性物質や,津波によって流失した多量の木造の家屋それ自体がそのような危険物の集積する場所に影響を与えて火災の拡大の可能性を増加させた。火のついた漂流する自動車や漁船もまた火災の拡大の引き金となった。それらは燃焼地域内でLPガスのシリンダーや自動車の燃料タンクによって火災を加速させた。(翻訳著者抄録)
